Core principle
TAB.REC processes tab audio and notes inside the Chrome extension and does not send them to PackWink servers.
Data handled
- Playback audio from the current tab after the user starts recording
- The tab title used to suggest a filename
- User-created notes and timestamp markers
- Local metadata such as duration, status, and file size
Storage and transfer
Audio is stored in extension OPFS. Metadata and markers are stored in IndexedDB. TAB.REC makes no network requests for recordings, notes, or tab titles. A normal file is created only when the user exports it.
Data not collected
TAB.REC does not collect microphone audio, video, system-wide audio, full browsing history, account data, or advertising identifiers. It includes no ads, analytics, or remote error logs.
Deletion and retention
Users can delete one recording or all local data from the Library. Removing the extension causes Chrome to remove its private extension storage.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use
Use of information received from Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including Limited Use requirements. It is not sold or used outside the product’s disclosed user-facing purpose.
